Laser Dentistry

Our office uses Fotona's Lightwalker laser to accomplish and complement several dental treatments. The Lightwalker consists of two types of lasers, an Er:YAG and Nd:YAG, allowing for a wide variety of applications. Some of the laser services we are able to provide include anesthesia free fillings, cold sore and canker sore treatment, periodontal pocket decontamination, lip and perioral cosmetic enhancements, snoring treatment, root canal therapy, and photobiomodulation for post-op and TMJ pain. We are so excited to offer this treatment modality to our patients!

Dr. Jena Hauswirth

Dr. Jena Hauswirth is an area native who grew up on a farm near Havelock. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in biology before attending dental school at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics.

Since being a dental student, Dr. Hauswirth knew she wanted her own practice. She has thoroughly enjoyed preparing and working to make The Dental Loft become a reality.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers allow us to provide incredibly precise treatment with greater comfort, faster healing times, and less risk of bleeding than conventional procedures. Lasers are particularly effective in the treatment of gum disease because they are able to target the damaged and diseased tissue while preserving healthy gum tissue. Our Er:YAG laser allows us to complete cavity preparations for fillings, often without needing to get numb. This provides our patients with greater comfort and shorter appointment times. Lasers also effectively target bacteria, helping to eliminate infection, as in the cases of root canals and oral surgery.
